I am

I recently found an "I am" poem from 8th grade and another one from 12th grade. This morning I did one quickly without thinking about it and found several of the most important factors of my life;

I am

I am a good person with a big heart
I love helping others and taking care of people
Even if that means I sacrifice my own needs.

I am in love
And I couldn’t imagine a life without my best friend
He is the best thing that’s ever happened to me and keeps me whole.

I am a professor
I love to make people think in a different way
Teaching and connecting with others makes everyday an adventure.

I am an artist
I am a creative individual with lots to show the world
Using different outlets to express my creativity is part of the fun.

I am a friend
I am a friend to many people from different backgrounds
I appreciate each person for their unique qualities and grow from each person I meet.

I am

While this type of poem is not particularly advanced, it is sort of a neat way to think of the things that are important to you at a specific time in your life. Being a friend, a teacher and an artist seem to be at the top of my list these days.
